Evangelist Darrell Holt

Darrell Dean Holt, evangelist of the Church of Christ and a true soldier of Jesus Christ, was born May 31, 1956 in Greenville, Mississippi.

He grew up with a loving father and mother, three sisters and three brothers. This, coupled with his love for the game of baseball, enabled him to develop a strong sense of responsibility and direction for his life.

He is devoted to his lovely wife, Anita, and, combined, they share a strong relationship with seven beautiful children.  He is the backbone of his family who focuses on the positive and, with the help of God, steers them in the right direction. He is strong, yet compassionate, and deeply understands the importance of being mature, dedicated, self motivated and proactive with respect to leading his family and the people of God.

Darrell Holt was baptized into Christ almost 30 years ago and has been preaching the death, burial and resurrection of Christ since then.  He believes strictly in God and is a prime example of being led by the Spirit of God, practicing Christianity according to the Word of God, the Holy Bible.

In 1980, he graduated from the Little Rock Arkansas School of Religious Studies under the direction of Brother Loyd Harris, Evangelist of the Church of Christ.  Holt has been serving God in a ministerial capacity for more than 25 years, serving in local churches of Christ in Mississippi, Tennessee and Michigan.

He has become one of the most sought out preachers of the Gospel in the United States.  With the Lord’s help, he focuses on winning souls for God, believing in the fundamental idea of door knocking and face-to-face evangelism.  So much so that his latest publication, “Foot Soldiers for Christ”, highlights the importance of carrying out the mission of the Church, God’s plan of salvation and the unity of faith among all men.

To this end, led by the Spirit of God, his evangelistic ministry and spirit has led him into debates on Adventism, Pentecostalism and Mohammedism.  He has reached out to, taught and baptized more than several denominational preachers into Christ which included three women preachers.

Holt has enjoyed the works of fruitful ministries.  His diverse evangelistic outreach efforts have carried him into many states proclaiming the Gospel.  He has preached the Gospel on radio and television, currently speaking on a television program titled, “Facts from the Bible,” which reaches out to thousands of people and teaches them how the Gospel of Jesus Christ can change the lives of all men.

He has led and participated in evangelistic campaigns throughout the Churches of Christ.  For decades, on an annual basis, he has consistently conducted revivals, workshops and gospel meetings and has participated as planner and presenter on local and state lectureships and conferences.

Moreover, the ministries of Brother Darrell Holt have been blessed greatly by God.  Inspired by the Word of God, he has authored seven books which are titled, “Muhammad is Dead”, “Hush, the Holy Spirit is Talking”, “Christ, Cultures, Customs and Commands”, “The Generational Curse”, “Denominations Unlucky Number Seven”, “The Great Battle of Men and Women for the Pulpit” and “Foot Soldiers for Christ.”

Currently, Darrell Holt serves as minister of the Franklin Road Church of Christ in Pontiac, Michigan.  Thus far, he developed and teaches an annual eight-month course on evangelism.  He re-established and teaches a Men’s leadership class. He ordained an assistant minister, trained two ministers and has developed a positive rapport with an existing minister, creating a pool of four assistant ministers.

Brother Darrell Holt not only understands the significance of saving souls, he understands the significance of keeping souls saved through continual obedience and faithfulness to the Lord.  This prompted him to re-establish a beginners or new converts program. Under his leadership, aided by existing leaders, Holt has brought many souls to Christ at Franklin Road including families placing their membership there.

Brother Holt has set many goals for himself, Franklin Road and the Church in general.  His immediate,  continual and personal goal is to serve God with his whole heart, mind and soul and to teach others to do the same including strengthening the youth, encouraging the elderly and building a more Godly image of the Church of Christ throughout the city and abroad.

His long range goals for Franklin Road and the Church at large are to establish a School of Evangelism to use as a stepping stone to take the Church into the entire world to teach and baptize Disciples of Christ.  He plans to institute model prison and substance abuse ministries and create model programs that are highly effective to feed the hungry and clothe the naked throughout the city of Pontiac and abroad.

Brother Darrell Holt, Evangelist of the Church of Christ who lovingly and peacefully reaches out to people and who loves God and the Church, declares that he has gone, goes and will continue to go  the extra mile attempting to save all that are lost as well as the extra mile to keep those that are saved, saved.

Finally, Brother Darrell Holt and his wife, Anita, are enjoying the Christian life together.  Through all the struggles and uphill battles, the Lord’s Help is their motto for living.  He is thankful to God and gives him the praise and honor for giving him such a wonderful Christian woman.
